Church is all about relationship - with God and with one another. Relational breakdown is at the heart of the problems that we face today in our marriages, families and communities. Key policy analysts and programme providers are increasingly acknowledging this basic reality. But the deeper reality is that only God can help us to fix this malaise - by fixing us!
That is why Jesus Christ came to live and die 2000 years ago - and why he was then resurrected to make sure that He is available for us today! That is the mystery of the Christian Gospel, which literally means "good news". Jesus was not merely a good teacher with some great ideas, nor was he just the way that God forgave us for being in rebellion against Him, but Jesus rose again from the tomb to prove that His power can conquer death, sin and doubt. No wonder the early church "turned their world upside down". Come to think of it, ours could do with a dose of the same, don't you think?
